Overview
Philip Morris International wanted to introduce the IQOS system – a new smoke-free alternative to cigarettes – in Poland. In order to build brand awareness, the company decided to start a loyalty program called IQOS CLUB and to create a dedicated web platform acting as the cornerstone of this program. The Polish affiliate of Philip Morris International chose Pretius to design and develop this platform.

Target and challenge
The old application did not allow for the development of new functionalities. It was also not prepared for mobile devices. In the course of heatmap analysis and heuristic analysis, additional problems emerged that had to be addressed with stakeholders. I decided used the design thinking methodology to organize all the information with the client once again. Additionally, UX tests were conducted during the design stage. The final element of our work was the creation of a new design system, which was meant to be scalable and flexible for further platform development

In the concept creation stage, new screens were prepared in the form of clickable prototypes, which were later tested with users.
A new information architecture was created. Workshops with stakeholders were held to accurately define target groups and needs
Solution
Over 1 million active users of the new platform. The new IQOS CLUB loyalty platform allowed Philip Morris to succesfully raise IQOS brand awareness in Poland. Now, the platform is used by over 1 million people and – thanks to modern solutions like microservices and cloud – it is ready for even bigger traffic. Philip Morris and Pretius continue collaboration, not only in terms of software development but also user-oriented design and cutting-edge UX writing.
Results
